Amy Winehouse

"Love is a losing game/One i wish i never played/Oh what a mess we made/ and now the find frame/love is a losing game/"

“A fate resigned”(Un destino rassegnato).

"All can ever be to you/ is a darkness that we knew/ and this regret i got accustomed to"

  1. Fragile existance, broken by cocktail drugs and disorder. Tormented by love obsession. The depression will lead her to death, leaving the memory of a sweet and sad look….. damm modern poet. It was so nice to listen to his evenings in a magical atmosphere at pub ” Hawley Arms” in Camden Town. Do you remember Paolo?

    1. Sure memory. L’Hawley Arms the pub favorite from Amy Winehouse. A cult meeting point for many London musicians. From outside it does not seem anything special, one of the many who were born on the streets of Camden. And Amy had chosen him as a young and unknown.

  2. Remember the Amy Winehouse Foundation. In other news, it’s now been eighteen months since the Amy…..
Set up in Ami’s memory to prevent the effects of drug and alcohol misure, began making a difference to the lives of young people at home and abroad. Some of the highlights from the Foundation’s first year of grant making include: more than 30 babies and children with a life-limiting or life-threatening conditions receveid specialist neonatal and palliative care. Some groundbreaking research is underway into children and young people living with multiple sclerosis.
60 young homeless people receveid a hot meal every day for one year.
More than 150 children with life limiting-limiting or life-threatening conditions accessed music terapy session. Ecc. ecc.

  3. One of the most beatiful voice soul of the last decades: Amy Winehouse. Its winning card is the mix of sophisticated sound jazz/vintage and the particular warm voice. A “blak voice”. Uneasy and dissatisfied spirit suffering from manic-depressive psychosis. A nice memory this piece of Paolo Carnevali.

  4. Amy Winehouse in “Just friends” live on Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London I think this is her best live performance ever, full stop. Brittany Butler( Just friend cover) after what was a fantastic compaign with over 800 entries and more than a milion and a half view from across the globe! We are so happy to share this gorgeous video of the “Back to Back” 10 winner Britany Butler with her beatiful version Just Friends.
The end in Back to Back it’s a bit sad the same Amy Winehouse. It was profoundly intelligent, authentic, had a visceral relationship with music. She was a girl who just wanted to be loved and tried to disappear, she did not want to be a star.

    1. Remember….
she happened to perform at “Dublin Castle, local for a few close friends in the heart of magic, mischievous and fatal Camden Town. In the following years these performances will make her famous the blues and the soul, acclaimed by Ronnie Scott at Cobden of Kensal Road, she and her inseparable guitar.

  5. Stumble the documentary-film “Amy” presented at Festival of Cannes 2015. Imeaetous and painful. Asif Kapadia traces the history in a very precise and detailed way, with often private repertoire materials. A human and musical portrait that has the value of a posthumous testimony. The British director painfully tell the fragility of simple and straightforward girl crushed by depression.

  6. Amy Winehouse the untold story (English edition)
    Chloe Govan

If Amy Winehouse was a car, an life was a kighway, her biggest mistake was never applyng the brakes. Yet why and how did the song “Rehab” stop being a multi-milion selling work of genius and start becoming the soundtrack to a tragically short life?
Pocked with esclusive interviews and previously untold stories, as well as expert psycological insights, this biography gets behind the newspaper headlines to answer that question, entering the real world of a talented yet troubled musical legend. From a suicide attemp by overdose at the tender age of 10, happened at her final show in Serbia by someone who was on the same stage with her, this book is full of unique revelations. The book also reveals the real story of her notorius love affair with ex-husband Blake Fleder-Civil, complete with suicide threats and self-harm session, wich at time seemed more addictive than any drug.

  7. Hello Catherine, you did well to remember the publication of Chloe Govan. I remember too Amy Winehouse of Blake Wood: photographer met singer at the height of her success. Photographer for Vermont newly arrived in London, met Winehouse in early Jannary 2008. A book colletion of 150 mostly unseen images, taken in location from Camden to Paris to St.Lucia, in 2008-09. Is published by Tasken £30.
Congratulations to Paolo Carnevali for this article. I’ll wait for a beer….when you decide to detach from the chaotic London.

  8. Hello James, thank you! I will certainly come back to see you among your sheeps in the Lake District, your romantic mountainous region sung by Wordsworth. Whe will drink beer, of course!!!

  9. Caro Paolo,

    a colombi e corvidi e cornacchie.
Più grossi questi tanto che ali
    fanno sentire lo schiaffo sull’aria.
Dove andranno a morire tutti quanti
uno ad uno cadendo nel silenzio.

    Angelo

PS del PS: piace molto anche a me “I need More Time”.
